Our Categories of Volunteers
- The volunteer on call is available to make accompaniments, medical transportation, errands and other services and respite. The volunteer receives a call at least 48 hours in advance, sometimes one week before the appointment of the beneficiary to know his/her availabilities.
- The regular volunteer offer his/her time on a regular basis (once a week) to make friendly home visits, walks, calls of friendship or errands at the fixed hour and day decided by the volunteer and the beneficiary.
Volunteer Recruitment Criteria
- Be aged of 18 years old and more;
- Be a permanent resident of Canada;
- Speak at least one of the official languages of Canada (French or English);
- Be ready to make a commitment for a minimum of three months;
- Have a minimum of 3 hours free per week;
- Show seriousness, resourcefulness and reliability;
- Succeed the interview of selection;
- Give at least 2 references other one than the family and the friends;
- Present an ID card with photo (Driving licence, passport, etc.).
- You will receive training enabling you to better understand the realities of seniors and feel comfortable building ties with clients.
- You will have opportunity to network with other volunteers.
- You will make a difference in the life of an older adult.
